About Area
Area is a New York-based company that makes really nice bedding and home accessories. Swedish founder Anki Spets started area in 1990 to continue the scandinavian tradition of good design for everyday. We like original designs, natural fibers, and long-lasting beauty and comfort.
The original designs, carefully chosen colors, and subtle details are what make area products distinct and unique. The products are designed to complement one another, creating continuity and endless design possibilities. They fit comfortably into almost any environment. We aim for universal appeal and satisfaction.
Designer Anki Spets was a successful clothing designer in her native stockholm. After moving to new york, she decided to turn her focus to creating home textiles that had longer life cycles and broader uses.
Anki’s creations epitomize the swedish knack for beauty, simplicity, modernity and practicality in design. Her talent for imbuing her products with both refined design sensibility and a human touch is what makes each collection truly distinctive.
