Does Going Green Cost More?

With all of our products, we attempt to use as many materials as possible that will impact the environment as little as possible. The wood frames on our sofas and chairs are FSC certified (materials come from regulated forests), and the metals we use are made from recycled materials. We offer a lot of "Green" fabrics, and offer 100% natural cushions and back pillows.

So why don't we use only 100% Green materials on all our products? Natural filling is much more difficult to get ahold of than the industry standard polyurethane foam, and is harder to get the specific cuts needed for the custom work we do. Both of these factors make it much more expensive than regular synthetic foam. Recycled fabrics and fabrics that are manufactured in a more environmentally friendly way are readily available, but most are fairly expensive as well. We can put them on any of our sofas though, and you can find them on our website in the fabric section under Green materials.

The larger issue is the manufacturers of the root materials not providing the necessary products without time and money becoming a possible hurdle. These companies need to realize that the real costs, the ones that we will all have to pay for, will come in the form of damage incurred to our planet. Hopefully the supply will soon meet the demand for Green materials, and all of our products will be 100% Green in the near future. Until then, going Green is possible but does require more money and more time. Feel free to ask us any more questions about the extra costs involved.
