It’s the new Sensuede – one that’s sustainable and entirely made from recycled polyester fibers – yet possessing those qualities that have always made Sensuede your choice for the home, office, hotel or even the private jet.
Which means it still is just as colorful, durable, cleanable, versatile, comfortable and luxurious as the interior design community demands. No small feet for a fabric this Green.
Caring For Sensuede:
Sensuede is easy to clean and care for, and is resistant to spills and stains. Most liquid spills “bead up” on the fabric’s surface, allowing the liquid to be blotted without leaving any residual stain. Here are instructions for dealing with common stains.
General Stains: Before stain dries, use a cloth soaked in a mild soap or laundry detergent, and gently rub the stain until it is no longer apparent. Rub again with a cloth soaked in plain water.
Sticky Stains (candy, chocolate, etc.): Remove excess stain. With a cloth soaked in a mild soap or laundry detergent, pat and remove any stain. Excess soap or detergent can be removed with a damp cloth. Use a dry cloth to absorb excess water.
Liquid Stains (coffee, wine, soda, juice, etc.): Blot the area to remove excess liquid first. Pat and remove stain with a cloth soaked in mild soap or laundry detergent. After that, wipe off detergent with a damp cloth. Use a dry cloth to absorb excess water.
Oil-Based Stains (salad dressing, butter, ordinary lipstick, ball point pen, oils, etc.): Use the same method as above. If the stain persists, gently rub the affected area with a cloth dampened with alcohol or dry-cleaning agent.
Sensuede can be machine washed in cool water with a mild detergent.
Do not bleach, or dry in a high temperature dryer.
Sensuede can be professionally dry-cleaned.

About American Silk
American Silk Mills is a vertically integrated organization with its manufacturing headquarters in Plains, Pennsylvania. It is here that American Silk produces its yarns and weaves its exquisite novelty fabrics. Palettes of resonant, saturated color, enhanced by the textures of unique yarns, grace the distinctive stripes and plaids for which American Silk has become known. The same richness can be seen in the combed-cotton velvets that continue the famous Cheney tradition.
